Welcome to the Heart of Compassion Website
The mission for Heart of Compassion is to fight hunger by meeting the immediate food insecurities and needs of communities by working with local officials and residents to develop sustainable programs leading to self reliance and independence. Fighting Hunger - Feeding Hope is to restore and transform communities impacted by hunger and poverty into communities of hope and self reliance, and doing it in Jesus' name.
Heart of Compassion Distribution is
a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located in the City of Montebello, California networking with dozens of other organizations to feed the hungry and give hope to a hopeless world.
We have been serving the needy for over sixteen years. We distribute to over a 100 organizations such as food banks, shelters, veterans, seniors, city and school programs throughout the Southern California area. We do this by providing fresh fruits, vegetables and other nutritional foods, and when available furniture and clothing to the less fortunate.
In 2013-2014 H.O.C. fed a total of more than 1.4 million people including 303,560 families. We secured and distributed 18 million pounds of goods, which would average out to $35.2 million dollars. H.O.C. also partners with various city organizations to host a monthly outreach where food is provided to those with a need.
